London Designer Outlet champions community giving with meaningful back-to-school campaign in support of Solace Women’s Aid
As part of our vibrant, family-led summer season, we are proud to reintroduce In Their Shoes, a purpose-driven back-to-school initiative designed to support children living in refuge through the power of giving.
Timed to coincide with the busy back-to-school period, the campaign invites guests to help ensure children across Solace’s residences can start the new school year with wings of confidence – simply by shopping with purpose. Running from Wednesday 23rd July to Wednesday 3rd September, the initiative turns everyday shopping into a chance to make a meaningful difference.
For every pair of school shoes purchased at LDO during the campaign window, a second pair will be donated directly to Solace – helping children in refuge feel ready to take their next steps with pride.
Solace Women’s Aid is a London-based charity that supports women and children escaping domestic abuse, providing safe accommodation, emotional support, and practical tools to help rebuild lives.
Since 2021, LDO has demonstrated its commitment to the community by providing over 1,000 pairs of shoes and essential household items to Solace’s 22 centres across London.
When a guest buys a pair of school shoes from participating brands, their child will receive a special sticker to take to Guest Services. There, they can place their sticker on a giant SHOE-O-METER, visually tracking the number of pairs being donated throughout the campaign. Children will also be invited to write messages of support – turning every donation into a moment of kindness and connection.
This initiative forms part of our wider mission to be a mentally healthy shopping centre – a space where families can feel safe, supported and entertained.
By offering opportunities for positive action and community involvement, In Their Shoes encourages emotional wellbeing through empathy, generosity and purpose-led experiences.

The In Their Shoes campaign runs alongside LDO’s Ultimate Kids’ Guide to Summer – a joyful programme of trails, entertainment and activities co-created with students from Wembley Primary School.

The Families Eat for Less promotion, running throughout the summer, gives guests access to exclusive dining offers across a range of restaurants – perfect for fuelling up before or after a back-to-school shopping spree.
By linking back-to-school shopping with meaningful acts of giving and value-led experiences, LDO continues its mission to be a vibrant, inclusive hub for community, creativity and fun.
